Here we are in 2025. By the time of writing, the Springboks are 1929 days of being Rugby World Champions.
Looking back to 2024, it will go down as one of the most successful years in the Group’s history. In terms of targets and budgets, all companies within the Group, i.e. Orion Wealth Managers (Warwick and Appleton) as well as Orion Investment Managers, significantly overachieved on the budgets and targets set for them. All companies in the Group had a very strong Q4 and there was no sign of anyone slowing down as we came closer to the finish line for the year.
A big congratulations needs to go out to Marc, Deon and Connor who were instrumental in the success of the Group during 2024. We should also not forget the pivotal role Adrian as MD and CIO of Orion Investment Managers has played in achieving the goals within this Group.
All the Spirit Invest staff need to be commended for their hard work and determination, albeit mostly behind the scenes, to assist OWM and OIM in achieving their 2024 successes. Well done Spirit Invest Team!
With a new year upon us, the Finance Team will always have to keep half an eye on 2024 as the Annual Audit is taking place to ensure the integrity and compliance of our 2024 numbers. With the tremendous growth the Group has achieved over the past few years, the number of companies has reached north of 30, all of whom are required by the Companies Act to have annual audits and Financial Statements to be drawn up. Deadlines will be the order of the day during Q1 and Q2 2025. First up, our FSP companies are due at the end of April and thereafter the other operating companies and Foundations who have deadlines shortly thereafter.
There is no doubt the “Super” Finance team will continue to put in the long hours to ensure that all these regulatory deadlines are achieved, all while producing high quality work and providing daily support to the greater Group as required.
