Who we are
Founded in the last century, Spirit Invest and its directors have been professionally involved in listed and unlisted companies, predominately within the financial services sector, for well over four decades. The company is wholly owned by The Spirit Organisation (TSO), which is itself a private and independent company operating in a number of different jurisdictions. Since its inception, Spirit Invest has steadfastly stood by its motto ‘Investors in Intellect’, as this defines the businesses within its portfolio, as well as the people who manage and work within these numerous independent and professional businesses.
Spirit Invest has owned, managed and been a material investor in listed companies in the UK and South Africa. Spirit Invest has grown substantially since the turn of this century and collectively manages and administers over $3,000,000,000 of assets, on behalf of several thousand clients and investors. Spirit Invest operates via a number of holding companies under the groups Orion brand, each one of these holding companies specialises in a particular investment field. With operations, partners and professional associates in numerous jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Mauritius and Ireland. Spirit Invest’s broad footprint has enabled all clients, within its many subsidiaries, to benefit from the highly professional and experienced staff employed within them.

The Holding Companies
Orion Investment Managers
Wholly owned by Spirit Invest, OIM in turn owns a number of Investment Managers that operate in various jurisdictions. These investment managers are Fundstore.com, Pangbourne Asset Management, Starfunds.ai Asset Management, Cadiz Asset Management, Palmyra Asset Management, Capita Asset Management and Accorn Investment Management. Fundstore.com and Pangbourne Asset Management operate internationally as does Starfunds.ai, although it also has a suite of South African regulated funds. Cadiz, Palmyra, Capita and Accorn operate as regulated asset managers in South Africa and in addition Palmyra and Accorn also have regulated suites of international funds. These international funds are administered by Fundstore.com, the groups fund administration operation.
Orion Wealth Managers
This wholly owned subsidiary of Spirit Invest is the corporate entity that owns the wealth management companies within the Spirit Invest group. OWM has seen rapid expansion over the last 30 years and today its companies operate from a total of 20 offices and service many thousands of clients. Warwick Wealth is now a well-known and also one of the most highly respected wealth management operations in South Africa and has been expanding across the country since 2002. This company offers a full suite of private client wealth products and services and in addition prides itself on exceptional client service. Appleton, which was originally established in 1992 has developed into one of the leading fiduciary companies in Southern Africa, offering highly professional wills drafting and executorship services.
Orion Property Managers
This company is wholly owned by Spirit Invest and in turn it owns the Property Management companies operating within the group. OPM is the most recently established of the Spirit Invest holding companies and has grown significantly over the last 20 years. OPM intends to continue to develop its portfolio, via its different brands, over the years to come. Underneath OPM are the three existing and developing property management companies, Oakwood Property Managers, Investin Property Managers and Unyson Property Managers. These independent companies have been established by OPM, with their own unique brands and objectives, as they each have a different purpose and a preferred type of property investment. All OPM property investments are proprietary and not available to the general public.
