The Spirit Foundation is proud to announce the return of its much-loved annual event, Feet for Fees, on Saturday, 21 June 2025, at the Cape Academy of Maths, Science and Technology (CAMST) in Constantia. Themed “Be a hero – Run for change,” this year’s campaign invites South Africans to lace up their running shoes and join a movement that changes lives, one step at a time.
Feet for Fees is more than just a fun run; it’s a purpose-driven initiative that channels the power of community and fitness into educational opportunity. Every kilometer covered helps raise vital funds for the Spirit Foundation’s education programmes, including high school scholarships, Early Childhood Development Centres, and the Spirit International Football Academy (SIFA).
“Our goal is simple,” says Ian Kilbride, Founder of the Spirit Foundation. “We run to raise funds. We run to raise hope. We run to raise future leaders.”

Adding to the day’s excitement, SIFA will host a youth football match featuring an invitational team starting at 08:30, providing the perfect entertainment after the run.
Dr Armand Bam, Managing Director of the Spirit Foundation, reflects on the campaign’s purpose: “Feet for Fees reminds us that collective action, through something as simple as running, can break barriers to education. This campaign is about walking – and running – alongside our youth, showing them they are not alone in their journey.”
Saskia Wiese, Programme Head at the Spirit Foundation Education programme, adds: “Behind every step taken at Feet for Fees is a learner whose future becomes a little brighter. These funds go directly into providing access to education and holistic support for young people who deserve the opportunity to thrive.
“Together, we can make the future more accessible to young South Africans. Be part of the change. Be a hero. Run for change.”
Whether you’re clocking serious mileage, entering as a team, or running virtually from anywhere in the world, your participation is a pledge for progress.
