EASTERN CAPE AND GARDEN ROUTE
It is not how you start – it is how you finish! That how production for the second quarter could be summed up. After a sluggish April, the teams in the region submitted an impressive R 152, 398,384 of gross business by the end of June. A large portion was contributed by the Garden Route, having now successfully completed the JD van Renen Merger. The Edward Dalton Advisory in Oudtshoorn also kicked off in earnest producing valuable business throughout the quarter.
These numbers truly underline the fact that the Professional Network is the lifeblood of our business. A massive thanks to Marc, Deon, Connor, Craig and Michael for all their efforts in signing the deals, assisting with the onboarding of the professional partners and assisting in a very smooth transition for these partners. Team Langenberg must be commended on the professional way they handled the Van Renen Merger, while Margaret, Marissa, Eurika and Frezel were instrumental in getting the Dalton Advisory deal going at the right pace and ironing out any initial administrative problems. Thank you ladies, you are very much appreciated!
The John Dalton Advisory was also signed but has been moved to a starting date in early 2026. Meanwhile the M&A team is working tirelessly to bring more professional partners on board, and several promising M&A meetings have been had.
The Lifestyle Network events also got into full swing with several events sponsored. These include:
- Summerwood Bowling Club’s Warwick Classic
- The First Sunridge Scout Group’s music bingo evening
We also sponsored two events that continued throughout the quarter, namely the Western Suburbs Bowling Club Mixed Pairs competition and the Woods Ladies Pairs competition.
Our staff remained unchanged during the quarter, an important factor that adds to the cohesion and overall team dynamics within the region.
| Florence Mphathiswa | 12 April |
| Karla Mels | 17 April |
| Rudi Oosthuizen | 27 April |
| Toni Janse van Rensburg | 3 May |
| Craig Holmes | 17 May |
| Mariza Langeberg | 19 June |
Going into the next quarter, the region will continue their effort to not just bring AUM on board, but also to fill the AUM bank, contributing a larger percentage of nett AUM to the greater Warwick business all while focusing on bringing more professional partnerships on board.
In closing I wish to thank each and every one of my staff for their continued efforts in making the Eastern Cape and Garden Routs region successful.
“Small disciplines repeated with consistency everyday lead to great achievements gained slowly over time” – John C. Maxwell
FREE STATE
Business highlights
The Free State Team ended Q2 with enormous success and through hard work, surpassed expectations and achieved the best quarter for the Free State to date, achieving R 198.5 million in net AUM!
Professional network developments
A highlight for this quarter was the launch and activation of Advisory Partner Christiaan Bekker, from Karoo Financial Advisors (Pty). Together with his assistant Wilma Snyman, they also achieved their first Transition Assistance Target. They bring a wealth of knowledge and ensure that clients receive top-tier advice and service excellence in Beaufort West and the Karoo area. Well done to them for their hard work and excellent service provided.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Merger Partner Bert van de Venter, who passed away. He joined the Warwick Free State Team in May 2023 and was a regular visitor at our offices. We will always remember Bert for his sense of humour, love, and care to those around him. He did not just leave a legacy; he left a legacy in each of our lives. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this challenging time.
Lifestyle networking
In the Lifestyle Network space, we demonstrate a strong bond with the community, and Warwick proudly sponsors monthly events and the marketing of the Bloemfontein Golf Club. These events deliver great networking opportunities, friendly competition, and connection with partners and clients.
Beyond that, Advisory Partner, Hendrik Kotze, together with Chris van Staden from Old Mutual International hosted an event for the young farmers in the Sandleem Study group and Free State Cooperative in the Eastern Free State. Two lucky winners received Warwick wine in the lucky draw.
New staff appointments
The Free State team expanded in Q2 with the appointment of Mia Barnard, as Client Relationship Specialist to Wiann van Zyl and Dané Snyman, as Client Relationship Officer to Petrus Coetzer.
Training and Qualifications
We are proud to announce that Mia Barnard, achieved her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification. Well done to Mia, you will go from strength to strength.
The Free State team – Staff, Merger, and Advisory Partners had the privilege to spend the last day of June with renowned Sales Influencer and Master Sales Trainer, Andy Preston. Andy expressed the importance of customer experience and standout moments with clients and prospective partners. He discussed his ethics triangle and guided us through emotional buying intensity and the effect of this on our setup. Each individual team also had a private session with Andy, and he assisted them with specific questions they had or situations they experienced. His sessions were refreshing, direct and outright enjoyed.
