As a marketing team, we spend a great deal of time analysing what resonates with our clients, reviewing performance of our campaigns and continually looking for ways to enhance our content. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to understanding the needs of our clients and partners, ensuring that the stories we tell are meaningful, relevant and impactful.
Currently, the biggest buzzword is undoubtedly AI. While we are actively exploring the exciting opportunities it presents from a marketing and design perspective, I thought I'd shift the focus for this edition of Spirit Insider to something that’s happening ‘on the ground’ through the incredible work of the Spirit Foundation and our partners.
Recently, the marketing team had the privilege of visiting our Spirit Foundation partner, the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB). It was an experience that truly stays with you.
The SANCCOB team took us around the facility, and I can honestly say I have rarely met a group of people - apart from our own team at Spirit Invest 😁 - who are so deeply passionate about what they do.
The African penguin is now critically endangered and SANCCOB is working tirelessly to prevent this iconic species from becoming extinct. Their dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to conservation are nothing short of remarkable. It is very rewarding to know that, through the Spirit Foundation, we can play a small part in supporting such meaningful work and helping to make a lasting difference.
Our ‘on the ground’ participation with SANCCOB didn’t end at our visit to SANCCOB. This quarter, members of the marketing team were privileged to help with the release of rehabilitated penguins back into the wild. It was an unforgettable experience and one that is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings. Watching these precious birds take their first steps on sand for the very first time is a truly special moment.
What’s more, the Spirit Foundation has played an important role in partnering with SANCCOB to develop the Spirit Intensive Care Recovery Pool. The warm water recovery pool forms a vital bridge between intensive care and full rehabilitation, allowing seabirds to begin swimming as soon as they are medically stable. We were honoured to spend an evening with the SANCCOB team celebrating this significant milestone and recognising the impact that collaboration can have on conservation.
Across the wider Spirit Invest Group, there have also been some fantastic highlights.
Sidney McKinnon, MD and CIO of Cadiz Asset Management, delivered an outstanding presentation at the BCI Conference in May on the topic, The Problem of Pareidolia and Fixed Income Investing – The Cadiz Perspective. Marketing featured the video on YouTube, social media platforms and an article on the website to ensure no one misses out on this insightful presentation. If you haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I highly recommend it - https://youtu.be/75CRangsjOQ?si=HtdBumpcvcA_ch8T.
Our newer businesses, Silverthorn Employee Benefits Specialists and Infiniti Wealth, are growing rapidly and we have launched dedicated office location pages on the websites, making it easier than ever for clients to find and connect with our teams across the country.
