We reflect on what has been an eventful year for iCaddies. Our dedicated caddies have played pivotal roles at various tournaments, and we are pleased to report a significant increase in the number of rounds they carried throughout the year.
With the festive season upon us, we were excited to see a surge in visitors enjoying the golf clubs, which adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the season. As we look ahead to the new year, we are filled with anticipation for the opportunities and experiences that await our caddies.

In November the Strand Golf Club proudly hosted the highly anticipated Strand Golf Club Caddie Championship. This exciting event saw 24 talented players competing for top honours in a celebration of golf and camaraderie.
The championship featured the finest caddies from the Boland and Western Province union, who were invited to participate in the South Easter Classic Festival Week at the Strand Golf Club. This event is a key highlight of the club's annual week-long golf celebration, and the caddies were warmly welcomed from start to finish. The hospitality extended to them included a delightful halfway house experience, pizzas, and drinks, generously sponsored by iCaddies and the Strand Golf Club, all of which were greatly appreciated.
The competition boasted a prize pool of R5000 for the top three placements, as well as prizes for the nearest to the pin on all par 3 holes. The enthusiasm generated by this event has inspired other clubs to consider organizing similar competitions for their caddies.
WP Boys Junior Championship 2024
The WP Boys Junior Championship 2024 took place at the Strand Golf Club from December 6 to December 8, 2024. This prestigious tournament spanned three days and featured four rounds of golf, with 36 holes played on the opening day and 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday.
Over 120 junior golfers from across South Africa participated in this exciting event, showcasing their talent and passion for the game. The tournament also provided an excellent opportunity for caddies, who worked through all four rounds of golf over the three days, earning a maximum of R2000.
This championship not only highlighted the skills of the young golfers but also created work for 30 caddies on a national stage, allowing them to assist golfers from various provinces at the Strand Golf Club. The tournament was a resounding success, with our iCaddies playing a vital role throughout the event
Paarl Golf Club Caddie Championship 2024
The annual Paarl Caddie Championship took place on December 2, 2024, bringing together the dedicated iCaddies of the Paarl Golf Club for a friendly competition to determine the best golfer among them. This event serves not only as a tournament but also as a year-end function to express gratitude for the caddies' tireless efforts and commitment throughout the year.
This year's championship featured 16 caddies competing in an Individual Stableford format, providing a fantastic opportunity for the club to give back to those who have provided exceptional service. As a token of appreciation, each caddie received a R300 voucher from the Paarl Golf Club.
The club and its members went to great lengths to support the caddies during the challenging winter months, a sentiment reflected in the numerous positive comments received from the caddies during the prize-giving ceremony.
The day was a resounding success, with caddies enjoying a wonderful time on the beloved Paarl Golf Course. The event not only celebrated their skills but also fostered a sense of community and appreciation among all participants.
