The first half of 2025 went by faster than Akani Simbine in the 100-metre sprint. I am pleased to announce that during Q2 all the Group Audits were successfully completed, and the Group Financials were all accepted and signed by the Board in April and May. All annual and interim FSCA submissions were successfully completed and all regulatory annual tax submissions to the South African Revenue Service.
During the month of June, time was spent completing a budget ‘refresh’ for the second half of 2025 for each company. These budgets were submitted for approval by the relevant company’s boards.
The Finance Team continued their Group function by supporting OWM, OIM and the Foundations with all their financial needs and reporting requirements.
Monthly meetings were held between the CFO and the relevant MD’s where the financial performance is discussed and analysed. In these meetings focus is being placed on the Key Financial Indicators within each company to ensure we continue the growth rate we have achieved over the last few years. It is truly a privilege and exciting time to be part of this Group.
The Spirit office is always a place with some banter and healthy competitiveness between the staff. At the time of writing the CFO’s beloved Arsenal team just came off an emphatic win at Old Trafford on the opening day of the new Premier League season. With a large contingent of Man United supporters in the office, it was an enjoyable arrival on Monday morning. 😊
We would like to thank Johan, Liezl, Oscar and Leo for their continued hard work, supporting the various Group companies and always willing to assist where possible. The Spirit Office will continue to push on through Q3 to end the year strongly as we head into the latter part of 2025.
