H1 Momentum Sets the Stage for an Exciting Second Half
After a strong start to the year, the M&A team continued to build momentum throughout Q2, delivering another outstanding quarter and reinforcing the progress made during the first three months of the year.
The team signed an impressive R3.075 billion in business during Q2, a significant increase on Q1 and a clear indication that the hard work invested in building relationships and maintaining a healthy pipeline is paying off. More importantly, the pipeline converted exceptionally well, demonstrating the team's ability to turn opportunities into meaningful business.
A defining moment of the quarter was the signing of the NBC Holdings deal by Len Kok, valued at R1.5 billion. As one of the largest deals secured by the team, it stands as a remarkable achievement and highlights the calibre of opportunities being pursued across the business.
Growing the Team
We were excited to welcome Nicholas Jackson as the new M&A Manager for the Western Cape. We wish him every success as he settles into his new role and becomes part of the team's continued journey.
It has also been fantastic to see Werner Jonk continue to build on the momentum he established after rejoining the team earlier this year. His ongoing growth has been encouraging and we look forward to seeing what he achieves in the months ahead.
Supporting our people remains a priority, with focused one-on-one coaching and development sessions helping both Nicholas and Werner establish strong foundations for success.
Eyes on H2
As we head into the second half of the year, there is plenty to be excited about. The pipeline is looking healthy, with a number of exciting opportunities already lined up for signature. At the same time, the team knows that sustained success comes from continually creating new opportunities rather than relying solely on those already in progress. Keeping the pipeline full and maintaining the momentum built during H1 will be key to achieving another successful six months.
If the first half of the year has taught us anything, it's that persistence pays off. The saying "Aanhouer wen" has certainly proven true for the M&A team, and with the passion, commitment, and drive shown so far, there is every reason to believe that the best is still to come.
Here's to carrying the momentum forward and making H2 even bigger than H1!
